Shooting Roots Storytelling - - The Three Sisters

Listen to this story about how Snowdon brought life to his valleys. Then check out this challenge which can be done in pairs (one asking the other) or individually (note down some questions and then answer them as if you were the character) Challenge: Try hot seating one of the Three Sisters - Elwy, Dee and Alyn - or Ciara the Mother/Snowdon the Father. How did they feel? What affected their decisions? What are they like? Open-ended questions usually can't be responded to with a Yes or No whereas closed-ended questions can. Try using both styles of questions on these characters. The great thing about this activity is that there are no wrong answers! But this helps you get to know the characters in your story, which will make your retelling more authentic. Listen to find out, and then try these activities: Challenge: Draw a map of a town and include places such as the library, park, hospital, shops and places you have created where you would go on a typical day. Tell a well-known story such as Little Red riding hood using your map. Think about the gaze of your chosen story and what a particular character would see. Also, think about both of the Anansi stories and how they interlink? How can you tell they are in the same world?
